World Animal Day – October 4th

On October 4th, World Animal Day is celebrated. But do we have reason to celebrate?

The purpose of the date is to make people aware of the care that should be given to animals, whether domestic or wild. It is also necessary to reflect on the position of human beings in relation to the environment and nature preservation.

Unfortunately, the dropout numbers are no reason to celebrate. According to the WHO (World Health Organization) there are about 30 million abandoned animals in Brazil.

For the Projeto Anjinhos da Rua, the largest private sanctuary in the world for the defense of abandoned animals, the mission is to manage to alleviate the pain and suffering of many of them.

The sanctuary has an area of 1 million square meters and more than 1500 animals that have gained a new chance to live with love, dignity, respect, care and affection.

A non-profit organization started in 2006 and approved in 2008 by the statute, it has been financially maintained since then by the Machado family, the Anjinhos da Rua Project arises through an abandoned ex-dog, Quinho, who through his eyes, through a spiritual manifestation, he showed his owner and best friend, Henrique Machado, that a project should start, where animals like him would be rescued and would have the opportunity to experience great doses of love, affection, comfort and security, no longer running the risk of suffering from mistreatment, abandonment or any contempt on the part of man.

The Anjinhos da Rua Project has already saved thousands of animals, and currently shelters and cares for more than 1,500 of the most varied species, among them are dogs, cats, pigs, rabbits, horses, cows, oxen, chickens, goose, fish, buffalo , among others who live with dignity until the last days of life, being totally against the practice of euthanasia.

With 4 highly qualified veterinarians hired for the care of the animals, treatments are offered with the best quality medicines and equipment.

For philosophical reasons the sanctuary does not work with the donation of animals, from the moment he arrives, the sanctuary is his new definitive home.

The mission of the Projeto Anjinhos da Rua is to transmit love through simple gestures, spreading attention and affection to others, acting philanthropically for the protection, welfare and care of animal protection, as well as complaints of mistreatment, with the legal department when necessary. encouraging the population to embrace the animal cause, demonstrating that everyone, without distinction, deserves to live with dignity, with joy and the minimum conditions necessary for a good survival, which unfortunately has not been practiced by human beings.

The Projeto Anjinhos da Rua exists to defend and protect the animal cause that, today, is on the rise anywhere in the world, but few do it with such passion, such dignity, veterinary assistance and quality of life.
