Victorious, much more than a buffalo, a life lesson!

In 2014, on a road in front of the Anjinhos da Rua Project, in Peruíbe, it was already dawn when the Project vets were called to assist in running over an animal on the road. Accustomed to handling such incidents, professionals drove to the scene of the accident waiting for a run-down of some kind of horse or cattle, more common on road stretches, but, arriving at the scene, were surprised to find an exotic type of cattle, a buffalo, which was still pregnant. Surprised by the animal’s condition and serious condition, the vets took the pregnant buffalo to the Project, where they could keep her alive until she could give birth to her “little” puppy three months later, and unfortunately 40 days later died. after childbirth.

It is noteworthy that even in the face of pain from the accident, all the bravery and determination of the mother buffalo were not in vain, because it left there a great legacy, or rather one of the great stars of the Project Anjinhos da Rua, the VICTORIOUS buffalo!

Victorious is of the Murrah breed, is almost 4 years old and weighs almost 1 ton. He is totally domesticated and extremely docile, loves to cool off in one of the Project’s lakes and loves taking pictures, especially selfies with a beautiful smile on his face. However, the beginning was not as easy as imagined, Victorious and his mother lived for 40 days without going unglued, but with the death of the buffalo, it took a lot of love, affection and dedication to supply the Victorious lack of his mother.

Chalana Machado and the entire team of Project Anjinhos da Rua took all the necessary precautions, worrying about the smallest details so that Victorious would not miss his mother so much. An Indian friend of the Machado family, advised that at the time of breastfeeding him, the milk was heated, simulating as if it was coming from his mother, which caused him to breastfeed after the death of the buffalo mother.

Victorious had its name inspired by its history, being the result of a great work done by those involved in the Anjinhos da Rua Project. Thus, Victorious stands out by showing that through love, affection and dedication there are no limits when doing good.

Today, it symbolizes everything that the Anjinhos da Rua Project aims to pass on and that transmits to each of its more than 1,300 sheltered animals, that all life should be celebrated with the utmost care, love and affection.
